Lori has 20 years in the mining industry in various capacities of management, geology and exploration. Most of her experience is from the Northern Ontario Mining industry. Lori is responsible for the management, training and execution of Boart Longyear’s TruScan data services for North America. Lori has an honours Bachelor of Science degree in geology from Laurentian University, and a Master in Business Administration from Athabasca University. She is a professional geoscientist in Ontario.
Emily is an early career Geologist-in-Training who has worked in gold exploration and production camps across the country. After graduating from Brock University with a double major in Earth Science and Biology, she moved to Sudbury in the fall of 2018 to pursue her goal of working at a producing mine. Since then, she has fallen in love with Sudbury's hidden gems and the welcoming mining community that exists here.
Jennifer has worked in the mining industry for nearly a decade specializing in Project Controls and has worked on the client, contractor and engineering side. She enjoys the ever changing field that mining allows and the people you meet throughout each project. Toronto born, but raised in Sudbury, she loves what the city has to offer in regards to the lakes, the people and the amazing career opportunities.
Natalie is an Associate with Golder Associates Ltd. and a Professional Engineer that specializes in air quality work for the mining industry. As the daughter of a Sudbury “miner”, she has been around mining all her life and now makes a living helping mining companies permit new operations and maintain compliance with air quality regulations. She also sits on the Board of the Ontario Section of the Air and Waste Management Association and is a member of the Ontario Mining Association Environment Committee. She is married and a mother of four trying to maintain a work life balance.
Ms. Katie Burau has 17 years of experience in business administration, project services, and project delivery. Her strong analytical and detail-oriented background includes construction management services, crew management, proposal coordination, change management, project management, contract management, and project engineering management. As Project Manager, Katie provides leadership to project teams and is responsible for scope, schedule, budget, and resources for work packages and projects. As a self-proclaimed champion of diversity and inclusion, Katie also sits on the CIM National Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee.
Jenna is an M.Sc. geology student at Laurentian University, specializing in morphodynamics of northern permafrost rivers. She is from Port Perry, Ontario and moved to Sudbury in 2016 where she completed her B.Sc. at Laurentian University, with a focus on indicator minerals. During the summer of 2019 Jenna worked in exploration for Big River Mineral Exploration, based in Yukon, and has plans to return to Yukon to aid with her M.Sc. work in the summer of 2021.
Brianne has over 15 years of experience working in the mining industry, specializing in resource geology and mine planning software. She currently works at Deswik as a Key Account Manager. Brianne also remains an active member of her community as Past President with WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) Sudbury, as an Executive with Young Mining Professionals Sudbury, and as the Sponsorship Chair for the 2022 CIM MEMO (Maintenance, Engineering & Reliability/Mine Operators) conference. Brianne spent most of her life in Vancouver, B.C., and attended UBC where she studied Geological Sciences and Geography. In her spare time, Brianne loves to travel, work on photography projects, and snowboard.
Kati is the Founding President of FROSKR, ad Division of Bestech Canada Limited. FROSKR is an environmental consulting and technology firm providing business stability through environmental sustainability for clients in mining, heavy manufacturing, construction, and municipal projects. Kati is an experienced leader and holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Masters in Chemical Sciences and a Masters of Business Administration from Laurentian University. She has over 15 years experience within the environmental field and is a Registered Environmental Professional (EP) in Canada, is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Associate and was among the first 100 people globally to achieve the International Society of Sustainability Professionals Sustainability Associate (ISSP-SA) designation. Highly engaged in her community, Kati is Past Chair of the Cambrian College Board of Governors, a Director with the Greater Sudbury Hydro Inc. Board of Directors and member of the Science North Business Affairs Committee.
Kimberley is a Sudbury-born communicator and third generation mining equipment supplier. She holds an advanced diploma in Public Relations from Cambrian College, as well as a Communications degree from Laurentian University. She is the Marketing & Special Projects Manager at her day job, where she handles a variety of tasks including social media and content development, website maintenance, recruitment, customer service management, and more. On the weekends, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her dogs, and also works on improving her graphic design and photography skills.
