Jennifer has over 12 years of Project Controls experience and over 17 in the mining and construction industry. Having worked on the client, contractors and engineering side of things, she has a well rounded background. Jennifer helped to form the board in 2019 and is passionate about getting more women in the mining industry. She understands the value of having a mentor, and the importance of showcasing successful women in the industry.
She currently works at as a Project Controls Lead with a focus on scheduling. She enjoys the constant change that working in the mining and construction industry offers. Toronto born, but raised in Sudbury, she loves what the city has to offer in regards to the lakes, the people and the amazing career opportunities.
Brianne has over 15 years of experience working in the mining industry, specializing in resource geology and mine planning software. She currently works at Deswik as a Key Account Manager. Brianne also remains an active member of her community as Past President with WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) Sudbury, as an Executive with Young Mining Professionals Sudbury, and as the Sponsorship Chair for the 2022 CIM MEMO (Maintenance, Engineering & Reliability/Mine Operators) conference. Brianne spent most of her life in Vancouver, B.C., and attended UBC where she studied Geological Sciences and Geography. In her spare time, Brianne loves to travel, work on photography projects, and snowboard.
Isabelle has over 15 years of experience in the recruitment industry with a core focus in identifying professional candidates for the natural resource industries. Currently directing recruitment for Calstone Search/Workforce Inc., Isabelle works closely with many mining and mining support companies working to increase the representation of women in their organization.In joining the Women in Mining Sudbury board, Isabelle hopes to play a part in promoting initiatives that will encourage more women to pursue a career in the mining industry, create mentorship opportunities to support women early on in their careers, as well as educate employers on the sensitivities and importance of diversity and inclusion.
She enjoys spending free time with family and friends, being active outdoors, reading, and there isn’t a podcast she doesn’t enjoy.
Having grown up in Lively, Ontario, mining has always been a part of Heather’s life. An artist and graduate of a three-year Graphic Design program, Heather is a creative problem solver and skilled communicator that has spent the past 14 years working alongside engineers and inventors in the global mining industry. With strong leadership skills, she has established marketing departments, coached staff, enhanced client relationships, and worked closely with internal and external teams to achieve major corporate goals. Currently employed as the Business Development Manager at Markey Consulting, Heather works with various organizations such as MineConnect and CIM, and on projects such as the Northern Ontario Mining Showcase. In addition to her aforementioned role, Heather is a dedicated part-time Canadore College professor, committed to inspiring other artists to explore opportunities in mining.
Jennifer is a Professional Geoscientist graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with over 20 years of combined technical, operations and consulting experience in the Mining Industry. Jenifer is currently the Vice President of Mining with Stantec. Jennifer's experience includes Exploration Geology in remote areas of Northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba, Production Geologist at the Seabee Mine in Northern Saskatchewan, Mine Geologist at Vale’s Coleman Mine.
She also held various roles at KGHM’s Levack & McCreedy Mines including, Mine Geologist through Chief Mine Geologist, then transitioned into Operations having held roles as a Front Line Supervisor for Production and Mine Superintendent and was also the Mine Manager with direct oversight of the operation of Glencore’s Craig Mine Infrastructure (Lease Agreement) and KGHM’s Morrison Deposit.
Giah is a marketing and communications professional with more than 10 years of experience. As a Marketing and Communications Specialist at Technica Mining, she brings her passion for innovation and creativity to the forefront, continuously exploring new ways to move forward in an ever-evolving industry.
Her determined approach allows her to successfully implement game-changing strategies and techniques that have set new standards in the mining sector.
In addition to her work at Technica Mining, Giah also serves as an Executive Director for CIM Sudbury Branch and is part of the Young Leaders on Board program with the United Way Centraide North East Ontario. These roles enable her to share her knowledge and experience while collaborating with like-minded professionals. One of Giah's passions lies in empowering women within mining. She strives to create a nurturing environment where women can make their mark without hesitation.
Victoria has experience in contracting and engineering within the mining industry after moving to Sudbury from Durham Region. She currently works at MacLean Engineering & Marketing Co. Limited in Human Resources and has a passion for diversifying the mining industry through mentorship, education, and exposure to the opportunities within the ever-evolving industry. Victoria remains active in the community through Information Spotlight sessions, partnerships with secondary and post-secondary schools in Sudbury, and various volunteering activities. In her spare time, Victoria enjoys cooking, gardening, studying new languages and kayaking in the many lakes the city has to offer.
Chloe Arsenault is born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. She recently graduated as a Civil and Mining Engineering Technician. The opportunity to pursue a career in the mining industry is something she has always wanted and looked forward to. Coming from a family involved in the mining industry, Chloe is the first woman in her family to pursue a career in mining. Having worked in the skilled trades for some time, she noticed the lack of female
role models in these sectors. That said, she is passionate about using her voice to participate in women empowerment movements and to share her skills and personal stories to help
pave the way for women in male-dominated careers.
